Park School students wanted to make badges and fridge magnets to sell to raise money for charity. The process started with making relief designs into clay 'coins', glazing them, attaching badge back and magnets, and making orignal packaging to present them in.

School Linking Day at Z Arts

We ran Clay city workshops for year 5 pupils of St John's Primary and Cheadle Heath Primary, as part of a schools-linking project at Z Arts.
Pupils each made a personalised clay apartment and were set the challenge of assembling them into tower blocks in teams. This was followed by making clay connections between the tower blocks in the form of roads, wires, rivers, tightropes and many other imaginative clay creations.

Ancient Worlds

This week CLAY OK will be spending some time at Manchester Museum to celebrate the opening of the Ancient Worlds galleries.

Ancient Worlds is a free exhibition of three new galleries showcasing archaeological finds from ancient civilisations like Greece, Rome, and Egypt, and revealing the people behind the objects- who made them, used them, lost them and rediscovered them.

This Thursday 15th of November from 6.30 until 9pm, Sophie will be at the Manchester Museum for the After Hours event, delivering an 'Ancient Fragments' workshop. Visitors will take inspiration from the displays to create patterns and textures in clay. You can also mummify an orange and take part in a conservation master class, whilst listening to the Oud! This event is free and there is no need to pre-book.

On Saturday 17th of November, Pascal will be at the Museum from 11am till 4pm for Big Saturday. You'll have the opportunity to handle objects from the Museum collection,  then let your imagination run wild as you make your own clay museum artefact! This is a free drop-in event, and there is no need to pre-book.

We hope to see you at the Museum this week!
